About Mosquito Primo
Take back your yard
Mosquito Primo was founded by lifelong Kelly Lake resident Jereme Courchaine and his wife Kim with one goal in mind – find the safest and most effective way to control mosquitoes. Both Kim and our son Cole seemed to be mosquito magnets and we had to find a way to make outside more enjoyable. Located right in Northwoods Mosquito Country, we know the frustration that comes with trying to enjoy a cookout or evening campfire while being swarmed by pesky mosquitoes.
We spent a countless amount of time researching products and practices that are safe for people, plants and pets. Now we are ready to share our process with neighbors in Kelly Lake, Lee Lake, White Potato Lake and surrounding areas. Mosquito Primo is certified, licensed, insured and ready to give you back your yard!

How much does it cost?Season Long Options - $600 up to half acre Standard 4 total treatments of our microencapsulated product with the addition of one In2Care unit. The combination chemistry of our microencapsulated product combines a long-lasting adulticide with two separate IGR (insect growth regulators). The adulticide attacks full grown mosquitoes, while the dual IGR keeps premature mosquitoes from growing into biting adults. The IGR works hand in hand with the In2Care system to effectively break the mosquito life cycle. This option compares most closely to our competitors. However, we achieve maximum mosquito reduction with 40% less pesticide spray applications (on average) and add coverage with the In2Care unit. We will also treat shorelines with our all-natural product, which is EPA approved and not harmful to aquatic life. Reduced Spray 2 total treatments (June and August) of our microencapsulated product with the addition of three In2Care units. Customers selecting this option prefer to have less spray applications and utilize additional In2Care units. Zero Spray For the customer that wants mosquito reduction with the least environmental impact. Up to five In2Care units will be placed on property and maintained monthly. The customer selecting this option understands it could be less effective than combining In2Care with classic spray applications. The main focus is on mosquito reduction while being safe for beneficial insects like bees and butterflies. Will mosquito treatments kill all the mosquitoes and ticks on my property? No service can guarantee 100% protection from every mosquito and tick. However, you’ll find that the presence of mosquitoes and ticks is reduced as much as 95% for 4+ weeks after application of our micro-encapsulated product.
-
How long with a mosquito treatment last? Our standard treatments will last approximately 4 weeks per application. Our all-natural formula will typically last about 2 weeks.
-
What if it rains after my treatment?Targeted surfaces are the underside of leaves and shaded areas; these tend to be protected from the rain. Additionally, when the product has dried (after about 30 minutes) rain and water do not easily wash away the treatment. If it begins raining before your treatment has dried, and you notice a diminished effectiveness, please call us and we will retreat at no cost to you.
-
Does the all-natural treatment work as well as the standard does? Our all-natural treatment works similarly to our standard formula. But since it breaks down quicker, treatment needs to be done every 2 weeks to remain effective.
-
I've got a bug zapper. I should be good, right?"While bug zappers may seem audibly effective, they don’t work as much on mosquitoes. Studies have shown that mosquitoes account for only about 4.1 to 6.4 percent of bugs killed each day by zappers. In some instances, these zappers are more effective at killing bugs that actually prey on mosquitoes. Importantly, it’s only female mosquitoes that bite humans. One study found that only 0.13 percent of insects killed by zappers were female mosquitoes. So, these devices are minimally effective and might even kill beneficial mosquito predators!
-
How effective are mosquito foggers? While mosquito foggers do work for a short period of time, they are only a temporary solution to keeping mosquitoes at bay. The best foggers can work for up to three days at a time, but our team offers treatments that offers protection lasting 4 weeks per application.
-
Are these citronella candles doing anything for me?Plants that mosquitoes dislike, such as citronella, are an effective way to naturally repel mosquitoes. However, many only cover a very short distance, so they are not the most effective solution for protecting your entire yard.
